Many people have asked me to reproduce my maps in their books, or to draw maps specially for a book or memoir. I have always enjoyed doing this, hoping that such maps can be a helpful guide to readers who must wend their way through the highways and byways of countries and towns, amid the changing borders of Europe, and indeed the world.
